Been reading Cussler for about a hundred years. Read everything ‘Dirk Pitt’, Oregon files and Isaac Bell & loved them all.
I have loved Clive Cussler books ever since I read his first one, Raising the Titanic. I have subsequently bought and read most of the others, however my favourite ones are Dirk Pitt and the Oregon Files. I find that the Numa Files characters are too similar to Dirk Pitt as are the Fargo ones, and I just couldn’t get into Isaac Bell Series.
When I was 19, I never before read a complete book, on a holiday to a small town with nothing to do but a book store, silent sea caught my eye, I bought it and read it in one day, when I got home I started buying the Oregon files books, and every new book since I have imported when it was released (it releases 2 months later here) . This man has gotten me from a gamer to a book reader in 1 month. Will miss his work but I hope his family and colleagues continue his great work
The first book I read from the Clive cussler series was the plague ship,that was in 2006 on the way home from our Mexican vacation. I finished the book I was reading and still had 6hours flight to go. Then a lady passenger in the isle next to me suggested swapping books, having nothing better to do I said ok, that is when I got into Clive Cussler, and That book was the plague ship. Since then I started collecting his books and now I have 81 books an have now this morning purchased Marauder.
I read them as I bought them, and have now got them in reading order and they make better reading.
After reading of his death in March 2020
It’s made all the more determined to purchase all I can buy.
Clive cussler was a brilliant author and is a shame to lose such a brilliant talented writer.
I’m only hoping that there are more un published novels. As I would have a hard time finding another author as great as Clive Cussler.
