Presented by Bradley Walsh, The Specsavers Crime Thriller Awards was an evening to remember, some surprises, some laughs and the delectable Jason Isaacs! What more could you want from an evening.
Acclaimed ITV drama Broadchurch did exceptionally well sweeping the TV categories to walk away with four Daggers. Sadly David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Andrew Buchan could not be in attendance but they sent lovely messages of thanks to their team.
The CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award was won by Roger Hobbs for Ghostman. A novel which starts with a casino heist that goes spectacularly wrong, was described by the Dagger judging panel as: ‘An assured and engaging novel which maintains suspense throughout and grips the reader to the very end.’ Previous winners of the Steel have included Jeffrey Deaver and Gillian Flynn, putting Roger in prestigious company.

Broadchurch and HOMELAND WERE THE MOST ENTERTAINING TV I watched this season. No one can compare to British Crime series except perhaps the Swedish detective series “Wallander” (Henning Mankil/author.
Luther just viewed for the 1st time on Sunday last was entertaining and
may watch again. “Between the Lines” is an all time top show, has just
started in Oz, hope the series continues and we are not cut short just
when we get involved… very common here.. drives one to distraction.
Well done to all the winners and Broadchurch especially, it was a vey well done tv drama and I enjoyed it very much. I will be looking out for the winning books.
I watched Broadchurch, it was fantastic! So am really pleased, that it got two daggers, David Tennant, , sigh,,, Scott and Bailey, , so pleased, watch this show, it really shows, what great writers, and actors we have, Congratulations, to everyone,
