Allingham gets new lease of life with Vintage Books

Golden age crime writer Margery Allingham is being brought back into print!

Today Vintage Books have announced that they will be publishing Margery Allingham’s complete series of Albert Campion books again. Here at Dead Good, we’re big fans of Margery Allingham’s work and are delighted that it’s being given a new lease of life – and we’re sure we’re not the only ones.

The first title in the series, The Crime at Black Dudley, is published this December with an exclusive Waterstones edition.

Joseph Knobbs, Crime Buyer at Waterstones, said: ‘We are thrilled to have Allingham’s first Mr Campion mystery back in print, exclusively for Christmas. Our customers love a good mystery – and it’s always a treat to find something from crime fiction’s golden age that we can bring to a new generation.’

Over the next two years, Vintage will publish twenty Campion books. Five titles are due to publish in May 2015, including a new edition of The Tiger in the Smoke complete with an introduction from the brilliant Susan Hill.

If you haven’t read any of Margery Allingham’s work, this is the perfect time to discover a wonderful author who Agatha Christie herself described as ‘a shining light’ of the genre.
