Jack Reacher is back for a second thrilling outing in Amazon Prime’s Reacher.
After the success of the first season based on Killing Floor – Lee Child’s award-winning debut and the first book in the Jack Reacher series – Reacher series 2 will be adapted from Bad Luck and Trouble.

Who plays Jack Reacher?
Titans and Smallville star Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher for the second run of the show.
The 38-year-old is physically how many readers have imagined Lee Child’s no-nonsense, big 6’5″ hulk of a creation in their mind’s eye while reading any of the 26 Reacher novels. And not only is the North Dakota-born actor tall, he’s no stranger to a gym. The imposing Ritchson looks like he’s been chiselled out of marble.
What can we expect from the plot?
As we’ve mentioned, this second run of the Reacher TV series is to be based on the eleventh Reacher book Lee Child wrote, Bad Luck and Trouble, so the basic plot is no secret at all.
When a member of his old Army unit finds a way to contact the untraceable Jack Reacher, he knows it must be serious. In the past, the elite team always watched each other’s backs – but now one of them has shown up dead in the California desert and six more are missing. Reacher’s old buddies are in big trouble, and he can’t let that go.

What are people saying about Reacher?
‘I can see why it’d be exciting as a film, but the slow burn is what I love so much about the books. The way that he goes down the checklist and picks apart these cases, you need time.’, Ritchson said, when asked if he thought the books lent themselves better to a television series rather than films. ‘It’s okay to enjoy that. I think spending a season on each book is gonna be really enjoyable for audiences.’
Showrunner Nick Santora – who has worked on shows like The Sopranos, Prison Break, FBI and Lie to Me – added: ‘Lee Child has created an incredible character and world. It will be the goal of every writer, producer, actor, executive and crew member to capture the essence of Mr Child’s books. Luckily Lee has been there, and will continue to be there, to help guide us along the way in this series. He is the pulse of Reacher.’
In a recent interview with Collider, Amazon Studios’ Head of Television Vernon Sanders teased that we can expect exciting things from Bad Luck and Trouble. ‘Season 2 is awesome’, he said. ‘And as great as season one was, I think season two delivers beyond that’. We can’t wait!

My husband and I watched the whole 8 episodes in one evening – we were gripped could not stop watching until the end even though I knew the ending having read all of Lee Childs books – so good to see an actor who actually matches the character in the book (Tom Cruise was not the person in any way shape or form) but love this guy – lets hope we get all the books in the order that they were written
Binged the series on Friday and Saturday. Aside from a few adaptations for the modern time, the series sticks very close to the raw feel the book, the no nonsense plot, and the grandeur portrait of Reacher’s character. CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT SEASON.
Best actor and cast ever since Bosch series. Completely believable with the character, best actor EVER. Will watch anything he’s been in. Tommy boy looked just like a boy, not Reacher. How that ever happened, I have no idea. Very surprised Child would allow him to destroy the legacy, watched it non stop till the end. Delicious. My hero 😍
No surprise that Tom Cruise, fine actor though he is, is no Jack Reacher. Wife and I binge watched the whole series in 2 nights and are eagerly anticipating book 2. Hurry up, we’re waiting.
Positively thrilled to see a true-to-life image of Jack Reacher walking the highways and byways of America. Much as he wants to be Reacher, Tom Cruise cannot fill these size 13 shoes, or even begin to fill out the armholes and chest expanse of Alan Ritchson. Ritchson even better resembles the Reacher I’ve had in my head all these years of reading Lee Child’s series. I hope Amazon keeps the series long enough to hit every book!
