Autumn Crime Drama 2013

It’s truly wonderful when you discover a new crime drama series to fall in love with that’s compelling to watch, thought-provoking and has a real buzz about it. So we’re thrilled here at Dead Good to find out there’s so much good crime drama coming our way this Autumn!

Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders kicked off last week and if you missed it, it’s definitely one to catch on BBC iPlayer. A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, Peaky Blinders centres on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps. Governed by fierce boss Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, the six-part drama focuses on the Shelby family as they attempt to move up in the world.

By Any Means

We don’t know much about this one yet bar this short synopsis: living in the shadows and treading the fine line of the law, By Any Means‘s maverick team bridge the grey area between the letter of the law and true justice, stopping at nothing to fight fire with fire. Starring Luther’s Warren Brown this series is sure to be a hit, make sure you don’t miss it!

First episode airs Sunday 22nd September, 9pm on BBC1.

Homeland

The stars of Homeland have promised a dark return for season three which premieres in the US on the 29th September. With the tagline on the ominous looking poster saying ‘Pledge Allegiance’ it looks like the hit show won’t be slowing down in season three!

The Bletchley Circle

Series two of this codebreaking crime drama is due out later this year and picks up a year after series one. More news when we have it!

The Game

When we heard Being Human‘s creator Toby Whitehouse had started work on a new production we were all ears. The BBC One spy thriller The Game is set during the Cold War. When a defecting KGB officer reveals the existence of a devastating Soviet plot, codenamed Operation Glass, the charismatic but paranoid head of MI5, known simply as Daddy, assembles a secret committee to investigate.

The Game will be six hour long episodes on BBC1.

Sherlock series 3

We could hardly ignore the buzz that’s already building about the new series of Sherlock featuring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. No official news yet on the air date – some sources are quoting 1st January 2014! Watch this space for when we know more.
