First Look: One Of Us

One Of Us is a gripping four-part thriller coming to BBC One this month.

Adam Elliot and Grace Douglas are childhood sweethearts just back from their honeymoon, when they are brutally murdered. Their families, neighbours in the remote Scottish Highland village of Braeston, are devastated. But their world is turned upside down when the murderer arrives on their doorstep the night after the killing. A storm has been raging, and his car comes off the road. When the two families find him, badly injured, they are faced with a terrible dilemma.

In the search for answers, skeletons are unearthed and old wounds reopened. Everyone has secrets, but when the lines between right and wrong, good and bad, and true and false become blurred, how do you cope with the lasting and deadly consequences?

Juliet Stevenson (The Village, Truly, Madly Deeply) stars alongside Joanna Vanderham (The Paradise, The Go-Between), Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad, Peter & Wendy), John Lynch (The Fall, Sliding Doors), Adrian Edmondson (War And Peace, Prey) and BAFTA winner Georgina Campbell (Murdered By My Boyfriend, The Ark). They will be joined by Joe Dempsie (Game Of Thrones, Skins) Julie Graham (Shetland, The Bletchley Circle), Gary Lewis (Stonemouth, Filth), Steve Evets (Rev, Looking For Eric) and Kate Dickie (Prometheus, Game Of Thrones).

One Of Us has been written by Harry and Jack Williams (The Missing), directed by William McGregor (Poldark, Misfits), produced by Colin Wratten (The Musketeers) and executive produced by Christopher Aird (Stonemouth, Shetland).

Harry and Jack Williams said: “One Of Us is a thriller but also at heart a character piece. So it’s wonderful to have such a talented cast. We can’t wait to see how they bring it to life.”

Jack added: “The Missing piqued our interest in writing stories that were more character based, taking crime elements but having a very personal way into them. That allowed us to do this, as One of Us is a fairly dark story.”

Don’t miss the first episode of One Of Us on BBC One on Tuesday 23rd August at 9pm.

We can’t wait!
